Founding partner Thomas H. Bienert, Jr. has been named one of California’s leading white collar defense attorneys by the Daily Journal. Tom is one of the nation’s prominent trial attorneys and has spent years defending businesses and individuals in a range of criminal investigations and prosecutions involving fraud, bankruptcy, health care crimes, insider trading, tax offenses and more.

The Daily Journal recognized Tom’s long career as a former federal prosecutor and his involvement in the investigation of President Bill Clinton. In recent years, he and the firm have won significant cases, including a $280 million settlement against pharmaceutical manufacturer Celgene, the second largest recovery ever in a False Claims Act litigated by a private party.  He has also won multiple acquittals and dismissals in criminal cases involving Medicare fraud, securities fraud, and dependent adult abuse.

Tom is also the recipient of numerous other awards, including “America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators®” and “America’s Top 100®” Civil Defense Litigators for Southern California.
