Bienert Katzman Littrell Williams LLP partner Thomas H. Bienert, Jr., has been recognized as a Leading Commercial Litigator for 2025 by the Daily Journal. The publication is lauded as California’s leading legal newspaper.
The Daily Journal highlighted Tom’s decades of experience marked by high-profile cases and successful outcomes, including a $280 million False Claims Act settlement and an ongoing class action lawsuit against American Express with damages in the $270 million range. Tom attributed much of the firm’s success to the quality of his team and the reputation built on exceptional legal work.
"At first it was just me and a paralegal," he told the Daily Journal. “[Now, a]t least eight of us are first chair trial lawyers, and I'm proud of the quality of the folks who work for me.”
Tom continues to handle major cases and is involved in almost all of the firm’s matters.
“. . . I'm not necessarily the lead [in every matter, but] I'm the advisor who talks in their ear,” he said of his role. ''I'm like the elder statesman who gets to do my favorite part, the trial work, getting into court.”
