Bienert Katzman Littrell Williams LLP attorneys Steven J. Katzman and Tony Bisconti secured a dismissal of five involuntary bankruptcy cases that had been commenced against their client’s companies.

BKLW represented David Bergstein, a businessman and film financier, in the involuntary bankruptcy cases initiated against five of his companies.  After more than five years of intense litigation, Steve and Tony filed a motion to dismiss the bankruptcy cases, arguing that the estates were suffering substantial and continuing loss, the trustee’s gross mismanagement of the estate rendered recovery for creditors impossible, and dismissal was in the best interests in the estate.

In May 2015, a judge in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California entered an order granting BKLW’s motion and a related motion to dismiss filed by other parties, and dismissed the bankruptcy cases and the related adversary proceedings for cause.
