As the firm’s Docketing Specialist and Project Assistant, Skylar is responsible for the administration and oversight of the firm’s calendaring and deadline management processes. She monitors and maintains critical litigation deadlines, coordinates scheduling and docket-related activities, and helps ensure that important dates and obligations are accurately tracked and communicated. Skylar also assists attorneys and staff with project coordination and administrative support.
Skylar earned her bachelor’s degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Biola University, where she was named to the Dean’s List and participated in campus organizations and peer tutoring. Her studies developed a strong foundation in textual analysis, critical thinking, research, and synthesizing complex materials – skills that support her work at BKLW.
Skylar also completed coursework in Paralegal Studies at the University of California, San Diego. Before joining BKLW, she worked in experiential marketing, supporting partnerships and activations, including a Los Angeles Dodgers activation and a BMW partnership. She has also held sales and operations roles, including serving as an operations lead in two high-volume environments. These experiences strengthened her communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and composure in fast-paced settings.
Outside of her professional experience, Skylar was a member of the speech and debate team in school, volunteered with National Charity League for six years, and spent ten years as a competitive gymnast, participating in both club and varsity programs. She was also classically trained in the pianoforte for six years and received a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
