Overview
Bo’s practice is focused on representing individuals and businesses in high-stakes litigation utilizing a client-centric approach. Having tried more than a dozen cases in less than a decade, Bo has a proven track record of success fighting high-profile and politically sensitive prosecutions.
At trial, Bo focuses on using the evidence to illustrate his client’s unique story for the jury in a way that is understandable, authentic, and relatable. As a Deputy Federal Public Defender in the Central District of California, Bo secured a Not Guilty verdict in each case he defended at trial, including a not guilty verdict in the first ICE protest case to go to trial, despite the testimony of a high-ranking Border Patrol official.
However, much of Bo’s success comes before his client ever sees a jury. Bo surveys the landscape of every case with an eye towards trial, finding unique avenues of attack and vulnerabilities to exploit. When Bo represented a high-profile client who DOJ officials lambasted on social media and cable news, he leveraged a favorable settlement after a Ninth Circuit appeal seeking bond for his client. In addition, Bo has successfully challenged illegal searches, arrests, and interrogations, resulting in the dismissal of charges.
Prior to serving as a Deputy Federal Public Defender, Bo honed his court-room advocacy skills as a Marine Corps Judge Advocate onboard Camp Pendleton, CA. There he gained invaluable perspective by serving as both a prosecutor and defense counsel in military courts and administrative proceedings, as well as Special Assistant to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of California.
Prior to commissioning as an officer in the Marine Corps, Bo worked as a litigation associate at Clyde & Co.
