Toni Thomas is an experienced paralegal who assists attorneys with complex civil litigation, bankruptcy, and criminal defense matters in both state and federal courts.  Her considerable experience includes federal white collar criminal defense matters and labor and employment litigation involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage claims.  Additionally, she has assisted in a wide range of general civil and criminal cases including wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice, white collar crimes, manslaughter, and homicide.  She has also prepared and filed multiple briefs, appendices, and other filings in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Most recently, Toni served as lead paralegal in the Backpage.com trial pending in the District of Arizona.  The judge in that case declared a mistrial in the fall of 2021 after finding that the government repeatedly flouted the court’s orders by presenting inflammatory testimony not related to charged offenses in an attempt to play to jurors’ emotions.

Toni graduated from the University of Southern California magna cum laude with a B.S. in Public Policy and Management.  She was a member of the women’s volleyball team and recognized as a stand out scholar athlete by being named to the Dean’s List and Athletic Department Honor Rolls.  Toni earned her paralegal certificate from the University of California, Irvine.
