Bienert Katzman Littrell Williams LLP is proud to announce the elevation of Whitney Z. Bernstein to the firm’s partnership.  Whitney is an accomplished attorney particularly well known for her expertise in complex white collar criminal defense and civil litigation. 

Whitney exemplifies BKLW’s tenacious, thorough, creative brand of litigation.  She has led complex, multi-defendant white collar criminal cases and won major victories for her clients at the trial and appellate level.  Whitney is known for her proactive, hands-on approach to every case and her skill in analyzing, strategizing, and negotiating successful dispositions.  She is respected by colleagues, adversaries, and judges alike. 

Whitney honed her craft as trial attorney with the Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. and Brooklyn Defender Services in Brooklyn, New York.  In her combined six years as a public defender,  Whitney appeared in hundreds of federal and state cases, obtained spectacular for her clients, and earned her reputation as a credible, tireless, and well-rounded advocate.  She has led numerous jury trials in both state and federal courts.  

In addition to her practice, Whitney serves as a board member on the San Diego Probation Office’s Chief’s Advisory Board, an Alternate Lawyer Representative for the Southern District of California, and an active member of the Women’s White Collar Criminal Defense Association.  She received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, her M.S. in Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania Department of Criminology, and her B.A. from Cornell University.  This year, Whitney has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” and by Best Lawyers for her work in Criminal Defense: White Collar.
